Qatar Airways First Class (A380)- BKK (Bangkok) to DOH (Doha)

Updated: Jan 15

One of the best flight experience so far.

From the moment I arrived at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, it was clear this journey would be different.

✈️ Check-in & Airport Experience

Qatar Airways offers a dedicated check-in line for First Class passengers, which makes the entire airport experience noticeably faster and more seamless. No long queues, no stress, just efficiency and calm, exactly how travel should begin.

Security also had a priority line for Business and First class. After security, I headed to the Qatar Airways lounge, and it did not disappoint. The space is beautifully designed, elegant without being overwhelming, and thoughtfully laid out. The food and beverage selection is excellent, offering both local and international options, and the atmosphere feels relaxed yet refined — the perfect place to unwind before boarding.

Boarding itself was just as smooth, with a separate priority line that allows First Class passengers to step onboard without crowds or delays.

🛋️ The Cabin: Refined, Calm, and Exceptionally Comfortable

The First Class cabin on the A380 is WOW: sleek, chic, and incredibly spacious. Everything feels intentional, from the layout to the finishes. The seat is huge and comfortable, so much storage space, and enough space to dine with someone else.

There were no overhead bins, so the flight attendant took care of my carry-on luggage and stored it.

Once seated, you immediately notice how quiet the cabin is, made even better with high-quality noise-cancelling headphones that truly block out the world.

The amenity kit by Diptyque is a standout, understated, elegant, and thoughtfully curated: 2 perfumes, hand cream, face cream and lip balm.

🤍 Service: Attentive Without Being Intrusive

The service throughout the flight was exceptional. Warm, professional, and genuinely attentive, the crew strikes the perfect balance, always present, never overbearing. Every interaction feels personalized, which elevates the entire experience.

🛁 The Bathroom & Onboard Experience

One of the most talked-about features of Qatar Airways First Class is the bathroom, and it truly lives up to the reputation. Spacious and beautifully designed, it feels more like a high-end hotel bathroom than something at 35,000 feet. While there I changed in my pyjamas.

🍽️ Dining Onboard

The food was excellent, I started with some excellent champagne: Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle, a caviar service and a selection from the menu, salad, lamb and dessert all beautifully presented, flavorful, and thoughtfully timed.

One of thing I love about Qatar Airways First and Business class is a la carte dining, It feels unrushed, you’re free to eat when it suits you, making the flight feel tailored to your rhythm rather than a fixed schedule.

The onboard bar adds another layer to the experience, creating a social yet intimate space where passengers can enjoy a drink, stretch their legs, and connect.

💡 Booking with Miles

What makes this experience even more impressive is how I booked it,

The itinerary: BKK(Bangkok) to DOH (Doha) in First Class and DOH (Doha) to JNB (Johannesburg) in Business Class for 75,000 Avios miles + approximately $250 USD in taxes.

This is a perfect example of how strategic miles usage can unlock experiences that would otherwise cost several thousand dollars.

✨ Final Thoughts

Qatar Airways First Class on the A380 is not just about comfort — it’s about flow, calm, and attention to detail. From check-in in Bangkok to landing in Doha, everything feels intentional and effortless.
